Congratulations to Brody Roderick and Michael Avila – winners of the 2012 Atlantic Aviators Scholarship!

The two recipients of the Atlantic Aviators scholarships for 2012 were present at our General Aviation Day to receive their respective award. First was Brody Roderick of Acushnet, MA. Brody is a graduate of Old Colony Vocational Technical High School and will be attending Bridgewater State University for the Aviation Program. Brody has been taking flying lessons at New Bedford Regional Airport and is eagerly anticipating the future as a pilot.

Our second recipient was Michael Avila from North Attleboro is a graduate of Bishop Feehan High School and has also been accepted to flight school at Florida Institute of Technology. Michael has been taking flying lessons at Mansfield Airport and is looking forward to getting a degree in aviation management.

Both students were very enthusiastic about their scholarships and as a result helped out at the General Aviation Day assisting people getting off the C130 Hercules that was on display and also with people getting in and out of airplanes that were giving scenic rides. Both gentlemen agreed to try to keep in touch with the chapter.
